Bioethanol manufacturer ‘Kurana’ together with the biomethane production company theTube Green has implemented another energy efficiency project – a 2.025 MWh energy storage system installed on the company’s facility. The investment will allow more efficient management of electricity consumption, reduce energy costs and make even better use of the one produced by its own solar power plant. energy.

The new system will provide an opportunity to store electricity when its price on the market is lower or when it is produced from renewable energy sources, and to use the stored energy during the hours of the highest electricity demand and the highest prices. In this way, the company will be able to manage energy consumption more flexibly and reduce operating costs.

The project consists of nine Sungrow ST225KWh energy storage modules with a total capacity of 2,025 MWh. At the same time, the installation of a 550 kW solar power plant has started at the facility. These solutions will complement each other – part of the electricity produced on the spot will be stored and used when the demand for it is greatest.

Energy storage systems are becoming an important part of the modern industrial energy strategy. They not only help to reduce electricity costs, but also increase energy independence, operational stability and competitiveness.

The project was implemented in cooperation with the energy solutions company Reenpro. This investment is part of the consistent Kurana strategy, focused on more efficient, sustainable and advanced production-based production.
